Where are you interning?
Accenture Management Consulting.
How did you go about getting your internship? What steps did you take?
I competed in an Accenture case competition and the winners received a final round interview. I prepared hard for the interview, did well, and got the job!
What classes do you think were the most valuable in getting your internship?
Most definitely MIS 301. That class teaches you business frameworks and introduces
you to case analyzation, both of which are immensely helpful in consulting.
What advice would you give to others as they search for an internship?
Pave your way forward based on your interests and passions. If you set your eyes on one main goal, cultivate a passion for it, and work hard to achieve that goal, you will get much further than if resume-building was your main driving factor.
Can you describe how your interview went?
Two one-hour case interviews back-to-back, with behavioral and personal (ice-breaking) questions tied in.
What skills do you think were the most important for you to get your job?
Being passionate about consulting, having consulting experience (case interviews, client projects for classes, and case competitions), and knowing consulting is exactly what you want to do. Other than that, being able to analyze things on both a micro and macro scale, working effectively in a team, and communicating persuasively are also essential.
