Like many seniors approaching their finals months on “the 40 Acres”, I found myself thinking “What am I going to do after graduation?” As a communications major, I knew that I enjoyed being challenged, being a part of a team and working in a goal-oriented environment so I began to seek opportunities within staffing companies and was fortunate to be referred to TEKsystems by a close friend.
TEKsystems is an IT staffing and services company that helps clients solve their business and IT initiatives through providing top IT talent in over100 cities across the country. Locally, TEKsystems supports approximately 120 clients, from startups to Fortune 500 companies.
My current role as a technical recruiter consists of networking and building relationships with technical professionals in the Austin area. Once I understand what each individual’s technical skills, professional goals and personal interests are, I focus on matching them with an opportunity that aligns with all facets of what they are looking for in a career. As a technical recruiter, I become their business partner. Whether they are looking for new opportunities, or simply need a resource to keep them informed on the latest news in the IT market.
I’ve only been out of college for a little over a year, but I am already entrenched in the personal and professional development that TEKsystems provides. They provide a world class 13 week training program, participate in local and national philanthropic activities, and I am surrounded by coworkers who genuinely care about my success. From here, many recruiters go on to become Account Managers, working directly with our clients’ hiring managers to determine IT needs within the companies and mentoring recruiters. However, there are several alternative routes recruiters can take. No matter what path you choose, TEKsystems provides a place for individuals to grow into the sales professional they want to be, all the while growing on a personal level as well.

We value part time college work experience in the service industry and sales/customer service internships. You must be driven, have a servant mentality, and be committed to your partners.
