What a match made in heaven! SVB’s clients are innovative, inspiring, and a breath of fresh air to the corporate landscape. SVB employees truly enjoy helping these Companies get to where they want to go. They’ve been spotted together at sporting events, beaches, Tech and Life Science Conferences, wineries, and the hottest restaurants.
SVB and clients have been going strong for over 30 years similar to Goldie and Kurt, Hollywood’s most tenured couple. I’m sure everyone is wondering…how will they be able to keep this up?! Through the Associate Development program (ADP), duh!
ADP is a group of recently graduated students and professionals with 1-3 years of experience; they will learn how to create innovative banking solutions to garner these relationships. The structured training program provides employees with the skills such as credit risk assessment, loan portfolio management, and the client relationship skills, needed for a successful career. On a side note, joining this group makes going to work every day honestly fun! There is always someone around to discuss deal structures, help with Excel shortcuts, and chat about current events including Queen Bey’s VMA performance. ADP managers have field experience and are invested in seeing their reports grow and find their way. It’s a beautiful thing. Upper management takes a genuine interest in getting to know the ADPers. It is shocking, as most entry-level employees are rarely ever spoken to, at SVB they are sought out.
What will you being doing day-to-day you ask? Well you’ll be learning the skills necessary to underwrite a company. As an associate, you will spend time understanding the business and financial models which differ across company life stage and industry. During this time, you will also start to learn the soft skills of communicating with clients, conducting meetings, and eventually grow into a Vice President role where you will manage your own client portfolio.
