Where will you be working?

Capgemini in Houston, TX

How did you go about getting your full time position? What steps did you take?

I saw the job posting on OCR.  I went to the company information session, applied online through OCR, and was invited to interview on campus and then at Capgemini’s office in Houston.

What classes do you think were the most valuable in getting your offer?

MIS 374 (Business System Development) was valuable during the interview process and case study.  The projects for MIS 333K  (Web Application Development) and MAN 336 (Organizational Behavior) were valuable on my resume and the during interview process.

What advice would you give to others as they search for a full time opportunity?

Start searching and applying early!

Can you describe how your interview went?

The interview on campus was behavioral (practice the STAR technique from BA 101), and the interview at the Houston office was partially behavioral, partially just a conversation, and a case study.  Of course, for any interview, make sure you have good answers to the questions: “Why do you want to work in this industry?” and “Why do you want to work at this company?”

Please tell us about your internship experience.

I interned at Victoria Emergency Associates LLC, a hospital contracting company.  I worked with a lot of money on a monthly basis, learned how to use three online payroll systems, and gained a lot of experience in business communication.
