What is your role at AT&T?
Currently, I am a Sr. Technical Director in the Technology Development business unit. I oversee a team of project managers, business managers and requirements engineers who work on the top strategic initiatives at AT&T. In addition, I am on a team responsible for recruiting college students into our organization under the Technology Development Program – Emerging Technologies. As a UT Alum, I am proud to represent this exciting program and introduce the opportunity to UT students seeking internships and full-time opportunities.
What do you like about working for AT&T?
I’ve spent nearly my entire professional career at AT&T — 14 years to be exact. It has been one of the best decisions of my life. Not only have I been able to utilize the business and technical aspects of my degree, I’ve also been able to gain new skills and seize advancement opportunities because of AT&T’s commitment to and investment in employee development. I am driven by the fact that at AT&T innovation and contributions are measured, valued, and rewarded.
I also enjoy working for a company whose core values include delivering the future first. AT&T leads the industry in delivering innovative products and services, initiating powerful business partnerships, and investing in cutting-edge technology whether in mobile services, next generation entertainment with the acquisition of DirecTV, high speed internet services and smart solutions for home and business. As a result, my work environment is energetic, passionate, and challenging. I’m excited about AT&T’s future and the opportunities that await.
What career opportunities exist at AT&T for recent college graduates?
The Technology Development Program – Emerging Technologies (TDP-ET) is a development program specifically designed for college new hires that focuses on project management and software development disciplines, with a focus on the Agile development methodology. It is an 18-month program that provides a framework for continued training and skills development, as well as hands-on experience through project assignments. With roles available in Business Management, Agile Scrum Master, Project Management, Process and Requirements Development, Software Development and User Experience/Design, you will be working alongside both peers and experienced employees to develop your professional skills and explore the depth of AT&T’s career possibilities.
