About PriceKubecka:
We’re a Dallas-based CPA firm that tackles complex accounting and tax problems by providing creative tax strategies that go beyond the minimum to add value to our clients. We understand the struggles our clients face and collaborate with them to achieve their goals. By providing more than 20 years of experience, onsite consulting, team familiarity, consistent communication and specialized education, PriceKubecka is crucial to client success.

We are always recruiting for one thing only – Future leaders of the firm. Currently we are offering internships in our tax and audit departments for Spring and Summer 2017. During your time with us, you will work on numerous client engagements and learn the art of exceptional client service. You will also learn to understand the client’s needs and deliver quality solutions. You will be exposed to a variety of projects and challenges sooner than you might somewhere else, and function more like a professional than an intern. No coffee fetching, no grunt work. Just real world experience, real world deadlines and real world expectations.

What is something cool/exciting/unique about your industry?

Over 60% of partners are set to retire in the next 10 years. This is both a scary and exciting statistic for the future of our profession. Young professionals have more upward mobility in their careers now than any time in the history of public accounting.

Please share current industry/department trends.

Auditing techniques are constantly evolving. Big data is forcing the professional to come up with more meaningful ways to test and verify the accuracy of accounting information. Technology now permits continuous, or more frequent, monitoring of transactions by auditors and we need young professionals to help bring this technology into our firms.

Why do you like working in this industry?

I love this profession because I can control the quality of my life. Everyone always talks about the horrendous hours that CPA’s work in our profession, but it’s simply not true for all CPA firms. We work 55 hours a week during busy season and only 40 hours a week for the rest of the year. I’m constantly learning and getting to work on interesting clients. It’s a fantastic career.

Why should students decide to work in the Accounting industry?

The better you become the more irreplaceable you are.

Fun fact about company or industry that people may not know.

We shut down the firm this summer and took everyone (including interns) on a 3-day vacation to a spa in Austin.

We play Family Feud every week during tax season and give prize money to the winning teams.
