Grad Year: May 2013
Current Title: Account Executive – Client Partnerships
Please tell us about your career path and how you found your way to Ibotta:
After graduating from UT, I worked in wine distribution with a desire to become a Brand Manager for a winery. I learned valuable skills in my roles at that company, but ultimately realized I wanted my work to have a greater impact on brands and companies. Ibotta provides that opportunity, as we are disrupting the way companies approach consumer promotions. Ibotta was hiring for an Account Executive on their Beer, Wine, & Spirits vertical, which was a great transition from my previous life. I now get to travel nationwide to companies and pitch our digital marketing strategies and solutions to marketing teams, from Brand Managers to CMOs.
What do you like about working for Ibotta?
As a McCombs student and Longhorn, I was always grateful to be surrounded by smart, hard working, and passionate individuals. Post-graduation, I realized those qualities are harder to find consistently outside of the Forty Acres. My favorite thing about Ibotta is that I am once again surrounded by a team that is extremely smart, uncommonly hardworking, and very passionate about their jobs as well as the Denver community. The team ultimately challenges me to be better both at and outside of the office by encouraging me to approach situations from multiple angles and implement solutions with strategic impact.
Additionally, there are various events and traditions at Ibotta which help foster a strong sense of community. One Ibotta tradition that I always look forward to is our Town Hall event. Once a quarter the entire company (300+ people) gathers together to review the previous quarter as well as discuss what to expect the remainder of the year. Things move quickly at Ibotta, so it’s a great opportunity to gain visibility into what the other departments are working on, including our Senior Leadership Team.
Lastly, we are spoiled with great perks like a state-of-the-art office space, full benefits, standing desks, and of course, Bagel Fridays.
